this work of judith is about real fruit in comparison to artificial

if you can see the difference easily or if photography blends in...

1. work

the first polaroid worked out fairly well
but the pear is much higher than everything else
and the lemon is to much lined up

in fact this is a matter of taste and if you like it
leave it as it is, but we always want to to try out
different ways and find out if we can make it better
(not always!)

now the pear is lower ond the lemon
is more angular but this was no advancement

by getting a little closer we got darker
because of losing light in the close up range...

we replaced the apple by another one
changed the position of the pear and rearranged the lemon

the apperture is opened about 2/3

in the end we thought it was quite ok now

(the new apple looks better because of nicer colours and
a greater peduncle but has a dent, which means it
is not perfect as well...)

the artificial fruits were arranged similar
and looked pretty good beside the pear
was too close
to the apple

we wanted to try something elsel:
get it more 3 dimensional by lightning

the apple has a much nicer reflection on top
but the lemon is a little bit too dark now

judith was satisfied enough...

i think the plate is no good, but judith wanted it the same colour as the table so it is more in the back.
sounds ok to me.

2. work

the peppers were too close,
the shadows too dark and we thought it might be

a good idea to turn around the red one...

i think it´s better now and i like the red one on the left side
better too. one peduncle showing up and one down is
nice as well
(it wouldn´t be that good the other way round)

the reflections at the "edges" of the peppers
are very important to work out the form
but the reflections at the body on the left are a result
of the white background and i don´t need these...

as we didn´t have a polarisation filter we had to place
black sheets on the light-table just out of the picture
to eleminate the unwanted reflections...

in consequence of the specific form the position
of the artificial ones is a little bit different
and the peduncles aren´t really goog...

all in all i think these shots are not more than ok, because you can do more interesting lightning
and choose and place the fruits (plate) more carefully, but taking into consideration
that judith wanted to lead the focus towards the fruits this is what they do...
